Liverpool

1962

The Merseybeat scene

Beat groups played rock 'n'roll and Merseybeat at dance halls and clubs across Merseyside like the Cavern club, The Iron Door, Litherland Town Hall and The Tower Ballroom in New Brighton.

Pete Best was one of those musicians who wanted to play his favourite music as a drummer; first with his own group, the Blackjacks, and then , with a group called

the Beatles...

In 1962 Pete thought he was on the verge of the

big time with the group. It didn't happen for him as Pete's life changed on one fateful day...

But Pete Best had to find a reason to carry on...

With original songs, drama and humour

BESTBEAT tells his story...
